Arturia Astrolab has created the AstroLab, a stage keyboard that combines virtual instruments with the tactile demands of studio or stage performance. It features 61 semi-weighted keys and a variable polyphony of up to 48 voices, allowing users to take presets from Analogue Lab, V Collection, or Pigments software instruments and deploy them in real time for unlimited cosmic sound composition. Arturia’s AstroLab is a versatile virtual instrument that combines the capabilities of its Analogue Lab, V Collection, and Pigments virtual instruments with a sturdy keyboard designed for stage and studio performances. It features an extensive engine with over 1,000 presets, eight 360-degree potentiometers for customizable macros, four instrument controls, and four effects controls, including two insert effects slots. Each macro control is color-coded to indicate parameter adjustments and support multi-part presets, allowing users to manipulate one or both macros simultaneously.

Arturia AstroLab Connect is a multi-platform software that allows users to browse, organize, choose, and purchase new and current sounds from various instruments. It organizes them into playlists or sound banks based on your needs, and allows you to browse broadly by genre, style, and instrument. The interface is flexible and accommodating, making it easy to manage presets for set lists or performances. Additionally, the app allows you to update them directly from the app. AstroLab Connect is equipped with Wi-Fi capabilities, allowing you to create and connect to your smart device via a shared network, allowing you to modify your music.

Because the macro controls are predefined, the Arturia AstroLab daringly challenges the seemingly endless possibilities of virtual sound by demonstrating that, for as much latent sonic potential as exists within these virtual instruments, the majority—if not all—of those vectors play their most important roles in the composition stage. Instead, AstroLab simplifies the real-time execution of those sounds by minimising the physical and virtual complexity of operating a VI with a linked, synchronised onstage PC or laptop.

The auxiliary jacks can be custom-assigned to functions specific to AstroLab presets, enabling both TS-switch and continuous-pedal use.
