The Elysia character is a standalone Class A distortion unit that provides an incredible range of sound possibilities, including mastering-grade saturation, tube-style distortion, and brutal waveform destruction. The character has two channels that may be used in dual mono, connected stereo, or even mid/side configurations, making it an extremely versatile instrument for any studio or live environment. THD production may be used gently and tastefully, while asymmetrical clipping can be used to unleash aural mayhem. To produce the desired quantity of grit, use a parallel process with integrated mix control. The Colour Filter network allows you to fine-tune harmonics. Tweak away—Elysia’s graduated potentiometers allow you to exactly recall your settings.

Expanding on the metaphorical idea of “painting with sound,” it’s useful to analyze the long-standing link between music and visual arts.
