Novation’s flagship keyboard synthesizer
Summit is a 2-part, 16-voice synthesizer with three oscillators per voice, built on the strong basis of Novation’s legendary Peak synth module. It is designed for professional or semiprofessional musicians seeking a powerful, exciting 61-note keyboard synth for onstage and studio use. Summit puts the power of two Peaks at your fingertips, allowing you to divide or layer two entirely separate patches over the keyboard and switch between them on the fly. Summit extends on Peak’s structure, adding many more controls and functions to the front panel, such as FM routing, LFOs 3 and 4, full arpeggiator settings, and pitch and mod wheels.
Gloriously vivid analog sounds
Summit’s throbbing heart is its three digital New Oxford Oscillators per voice, which are housed on an FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) processor. This design not only generates truly analog-sounding waveforms at ultra-high resolution, but it also allows for FM and wavetable synthesis, which results in rich, harmonically complex, and richly textured raw tones. Each voice has a true stereo signal path, complete with dual analog filters, three stages of analog distortion, and analog voltage-controlled amplifiers; a plethora of modulation assignment options and vibrant per-part effects (reverb, delay, chorus, and distortion) Give your patches movement, vigor, and gloss.
Powerful new Wavetable Editor
Novation has released a powerful new Wavetable Editor for Summit that fully utilizes the power potential of its Wavetable oscillators. The Wavetable Editor is jam-packed with features to speed up your creative process, including easy sketching tools and a Live Edit mode that allows you to design and preview your oscillator forms in real time! The Audio Import tool allows you to quickly construct oscillator waveforms from imported clips. You’ll also find an expertly chosen collection of space-themed music from NASA’s sound library, as well as unique content from renowned EDM artist Noisia. Summit’s Wavetable Editor makes it more powerful than ever, giving you yet another compelling reason to acquire this complex synth to your musical arsenal!
The newest firmware: v2.0
Novation, ever the pioneer, takes pleasure in the work of Chris Huggett, who contributed his unique design knowledge to molding synthesizers and sounds for the brand, notably the Peak and Summit. As a result, firmware upgrades enhance the already powerful features, providing additional creative freedom and flexibility. Navigate tastefully texturized soundscapes of any scale with new stereo shaping tools, such as per-voice panning and mod matrix panning, allowing you to shape the auditory landscape as you see appropriate. Modulation possibilities abound with the inclusion of additional mod destinations, noise as a mod source, and extra parameters for LFO 3 and 4.
Use these tools to tap into a rich unpredictability, which has been enhanced by the addition of Animate Envelopes and Arpeggiator Chance features. The enhanced effects include new chorus, flanger, and flanger modes, as well as additional modulation destinations that let you experiment with sound design in previously unattainable ways, such as the retro flair of the Lo-Fi delay.
