The PMC6-2-XBD System combines the PMC6-2 midfield studio monitor with two PMC 8-2 Sub to create a powerful, full-range monitoring system with superior clarity and resolution.

The PMC6-2-XBD system extends the frequency response down to 25Hz and increases headroom and clarity by reducing low-frequency load occurring in the midrange driver. The result is a more realistic sound and greater depth.

Configuration of the PMC 6-2-XBD is simple and consists of connecting the input to the PMC6-2 studio monitors and linking the main speakers to the 8-2 subwoofer via the AES digital cable “through” output. Both cabinets can also be linked via LAN or chained together directly via their Network ports.

The XBD mode combines speakers and corresponding sub into a single large scale full-range monitor. Additional DSP controls can also be accessed via the rear panel or via the SoundAlign software via LAN connection. When linked, each speaker and relative sub appears as one PMC 6-2-XBD speaker in the software.

Combines a PMC8-2 SUB unit to a PMC6-2 monitor easily reconfigures them as PMC’s renowned and flexible twin-cabinet format XBD monitor system.

This system combines the PMC6-2’s unrivalled clarity and resolution with an active sub to form a perfectly integrated full-range monitoring system that is ideal for all high-end music production.
In the case of the PMC6-2, configuring it as an XBD system reinforces the bass output of the main speaker’s LF drivers, greatly increasing headroom and extending the bass down to 25Hz, creating a system with a sense of effortless capability.

Configuring the PMC6-2 XBD system is to connect the input directly to the PMC6-2, and add an AES3 digital cable to carry the main monitor’s ‘through’ output down to the PMC8-2 SUB. The two cabinets can be connected either to a LAN or directly to each other via their network ports. When you select the dedicated ‘XBD’ mode the DSP seamlessly combines both units into a single, larger-scale monitor. Further detailed configuration can be carried out from the rear-panel controls or using the intuitive SoundAlign browser-based software via the LAN connection, where both speakers appear as a single PMC6-2 XBD unit when linked.

The PMC8 SUB can be used as a compact stand-alone subwoofer within conventional multichannel systems, or as an XBD cabinet, creating a full-range PMC6 XBD midfield monitor. When used in this way, the dedicated ‘XBD’ DSP mode marries the speakers and sub unit together, creating a coherent full-range system. Our subs are also perfectly suited to use in multi-channel and immersive systems, as our ATL bass-loading technology provides a gentler low-order LF roll-off than conventional ported cabinets, allowing a smoother, seamless integration between the height and surround channels and the sub.
