Arturia AudioFuse 16-RIG USB Audio Interface for studio, stage, and beyond.

When Arturia introduced the AudioFuse Studio interface, it set a massive new standard in audio recording and management, offering a wide range of connectivity and control options without sacrificing quality or clarity. The AudioFuse 16Rig now enters the ring to raise the bar for multimode audio, MIDI, and USB interfaces, stunning engineering experts with its powerful, adaptable, matrix-style versatility. The AudioFuse 16Rig is the next central nervous system for your setup, handling everything from complicated routing, monitoring, and re-amping to multi-instrumental, simultaneous I/O recording, and live support. The AudioFuse 16Rig has a 16-in/12-out array of analog connections, dual ADAT I/O pairs, a Word Clock I/O, two combo jacks, and multipurpose headphone outputs, as well as USB and 5-pin DIN MIDI support, dedicated USB-A hubs, and onboard DSP mixers. It can be instantly re-routed with unrivalled flexibility. The interface can even be run as a standalone unit, providing maximal creative assistance and experimental potential; no DAW is necessary. Did we mention the integrated AudioFuse Creative Suite plug-ins?

Extensive connectivity provides unparalleled versatility.

The AudioFuse 16Rig is built around a complex system of high-quality analog circuitry that can accommodate synths, guitars, basses, voices, and nearly any other audio source. Its 16 analog TRS line-level inputs keep your necessities ready for recording at all times. Meanwhile, the front panel has mirrored inputs for the first four channels, allowing for occasional gear. Channels One and Two have combo line, instrument, and XLR connectors, while Channels Three and Four can be utilized as stereo 1/8-inch inputs, and each channel is easily handled from the front panel. A dedicated Phones section includes 1/4- and 1/8-inch connectors for your headphones, with output ranges that can be toggled in 50-Ohm increments to ensure your eardrums and gear remain intact when monitoring in the studio or onstage.

Flexible output control for re-amping and more.

Even the output connectors include more than meets the eye. Channels 3 through 10 of its 12 analog outputs are DC-coupled, allowing you to precisely control nearby Eurorack modules and other expressive devices in your Audiofuse 16rig. The front-mounted 1/4-inch ports for channels three and four provide additional functionality that expands your creative possibilities beyond ordinary mirroring. These can be re-amplified using Arturia’s included AudioFuse Control Center software, configured to output distinct audio sources as supplementary headphone outputs via Altphones, or, using the Directthru option, linked output channels One and Two directly to the input sources running to channels Three and Four. Direct-through allows you to record straight into a DAW while also outputting to an amp or external machine, enabling zero-latency capture of everything in a single pass thanks to its analog circuitry.

Digital adaptability and uncompromising clarity

Arturia Audiofuse 16rig is never content to leave any territory unexplored, and the AudioFuse 16Rig is no exception. ESS and Cirrus Logic’s premier 24-bit AD/DA converters maintain signal integrity and audio quality from a wide range of sources. With two sets of ADAT I/O, you can manage up to 16 channels with lightning speed, and the Word Clock allows you to sync in any master/slave arrangement with other devices at 96 kHz without losing channel capacity. For simpler arrangements that do not require simultaneous usage of all 16 channels, the AudioFuse 16Rig will operate at 192 kHz, archive quality. Each USB-A hub connection can also be used to handle dongles, software keys, or drives directly with your DAW, as well as to charge external devices that can be used elsewhere in your setup.

Standalone MIDI and audio mixing—no computer necessary.

If you want to jam without a DAW or don’t want to bring a computer to live or studio performances, Arturia has you covered. The AudioFuse 16Rig can not only work as an audio mixer in the absence of a connected DAW or computer, but it can also route and handle MIDI signals from and via itself and external devices, owing to a strong internal clock and Word Clock I/O for smooth synchronization. Its 5-pin DIN MIDI in, out, and through connectors, as well as USB-MIDI capability, allow for interface with any class-compliant MIDI device, providing full MIDI control over the audio mixer. This functionality allows you to configure, save, and recall faders, rotary encoders, and other interfacing controls on your MIDI device as a preset using the AudioFuse Control Center software and then toggle them straight from the interface, giving you complete control without the need for a computer.

Matrix routing and AudioFuse Control Center

The Audiofuse 16rig interface’s full-color display allows you to handle almost everything on the machine, from preset recall and digitally recallable preamps to real-time feedback and mixing management. One of the AudioFuse 16Rig’s most striking features is also the only one that cannot yet be operated via the front-panel display. However, given the level of detail provided by the routing matrix, this was a sound decision. Any analog or digital source, including monitors, phones, both ADAT arrays, the Main Mixer, the Cue Mixer, auxiliary sends, and even analog outs, can be delivered, split, rerouted, or duplicated to any destination. This adaptability transforms the interface into an extraordinarily musical tool, simplifying dynamic routing opportunities for the constantly creative simultaneous use of analog, digital, hardware, and software sound sources. Furthermore, the eight onboard preset slots save the machine’s entire state, including its analog components, so that while you may not be able to access the Routing Matrix from the display screen (though it can be controlled via MIDI), you can recall a preset that has your desired configuration ready to go.
