Image 2.

Image 2 is a dedicated nearfield/midfield performer. Fluid Audio has pushed the envelope with cutting-edge DSP and Class-D amplification to produce astounding results. Image 2 provides excellent imaging, an incredibly flat frequency response, and tremendous bass extension with minimal distortion.

The Image 2 is a two-in-one monitor that can function as a full-range mixing and mastering system or a console “cubemix” with a simple footswitch. Cubemix mode allows engineers to adjust low-end and middle levels for optimal playing on numerous “bass-challenged” devices. It also helps with vocal adjustments, hitting the kickdrums, and overall balance.

Image 2 studio monitors now enable Sonarworks SoundID Reference calibration import for seamless integration.
Allowing users to develop their own calibration profiles for their monitor setups in order to reduce undesired coloration and experience the most authentic studio reference sound in any studio or home.

The Image 2’s USB port enhances its usefulness by allowing users to upload and run exported room correction files on the monitor, swap between profiles (up to four SoundID Reference profiles can be loaded), and use cubemix mode.

The newly developed AMT tweeter provides accurate, clear response, ample headroom, and minimal distortion, and the aluminum cone mid-range speaker incorporates a shorting ring into its motor assembly to significantly minimize harmonic distortion. Focusing and focusing the magnetic flux within the voice coil gap lowers modulation movement of the voice coil, resulting in a more linear change of system inductances when input current fluctuates. The ultimate result is such high accuracy that mixing takes on a new flow.

The dual 8″ ultra-long-throw bass woofers are interlocked at the magnets from within, providing increased cabinet stability and extended bass response (+/- 4.6 dB 28 Hz–20 kHz; +/- 2.0 dB 80 Hz–20 kHz). Each bass driver is driven by the most advanced 225W Class-D amplifier.

The newly built Class-D quad amplifier powers the entire system. Spending the most development time on this important element, the Image 2 amp has extremely low self-noise, very low distortion, improved THD+N performance, improved IMD performance, and lower output impedance. The Image 2’s sealed enclosure design allows for a natural 6 dB/oct roll-off, resulting in a more regulated low-frequency response. This reduces the chance of undesirable interaction with the surroundings; therefore, these monitors are less sensitive to location.

Mixing or mastering Image 2 will deliver professional results that are more accurate and effortlessly achieved than ever before.

On the input side are both XLR and TRS analog inputs, as well as AES/EBU XLR + SPDIF IN and THRU. Also present is a footswitch input that connects the included footpedal. The foot pedal is used to toggle between the default SoundID reference voicing and the internal cubemix mode. Cubemix mode enables users to use an alternative EQ curve that mimics popular small-scale, single-full-range speakers, allowing accurate dial-in of low-end and midrange levels for even playback on many “bass-challenged” devices. It further helps with the adjustment of vocals, nailing kickdrums, and overall level balance.
Image 2 supports uploading your room profile from Sonarworks SoundID Reference. (A measurement microphone is required.) This enables the filter settings to be run on the embedded DSP platform built into Image 2. All purchases of Image 2 will get a 60-day trial of SoundID Reference Multi-Channel after registration.
Using the USB port and our DCT software lets you upload the exported profiles from your OSX/Windows-enabled device.
Additionally, there are further adjustment options for HF Trim, MF Trim, and LF Trim, as well as the option to lift the GND.

Another important option provided allows users to turn off “standby mode.”  With the switch in the Auto On position, the monitor will go to sleep after 45 minutes without use, and it will wake up by detecting any input signal. In the off position, it will never go into standby mode.

We understand that the world of professional studio monitors offers a wide range of options at varying price points. At Fluid Audio, our aim with the Image 2 is to provide a high-impact and precise studio monitor with built-in room correction capabilities, all at a fraction of the cost compared to our competitors. We believe in the power of hearing and invite you to experience firsthand how Image 2 stands out from the rest in terms of features and benefits. The rave reviews we’ve received confirm that the Image 2 has successfully achieved all the crucial audio benchmarks, making it the ultimate studio monitor solution for any studio size and audio reproduction requirement.

The dual-side firing 200mm (8”) woofers provide critically accurate low end to insure your mixes will fully translate to other playback systems. Fluid’s Vi-Bracer technology connects each woofer back-to-back, internally locking the cabinet and drivers to each other. This contributes to stopping unwanted vibrations before they begin. Placing the woofers on the side further makes the footprint small and the cabinet compact for ease of room placement.

Each woofer is powered by a Class-D 225W RMS amplifier that will give you enough headroom when you are mixing and demoing for your clients.

The lows are far-reaching and impactful.
