This well-designed three-way speaker has a 1-inch radiator tweeter, two 2.5-inch aluminum-cone midrange drivers, and an 8-inch aluminum-cone subwoofer with a frequency response of 40Hz to 45kHz. This 610-watt studio monitor includes Hypex amplifier stages for superior acoustic clarity, as well as Barefoot Audio’s cutting-edge MEME technology, which offers four voice models and allows you to reference different types of speakers directly from the MicroMain45. The Barefoot Sound MicroMain45, intended for small and mid-sized project studios, combines the famous performance of the company’s MicroMain45 and MicroMain35 in a cost-effective nearfield mixer.

Each MicroMain45 also includes a single 8-inch aluminum-cone subwoofer with a high-linearity motor capable of producing pure bass as low as 40 Hz. Sweetwater engineers observed that the MicroMain45’s tweeters are extremely detailed with wide dispersion, and the midrange quality rivals anything else in this price category. Small and medium-sized project studios that require flawless sound will struggle to beat the MicroMain45.

The amplifier stages of the Barefoot Sound MicroMain45 were meticulously designed for maximum transparency in collaboration with Hypex’s Bruno Putzeys. This active speaker’s revolutionary DSP crossover provides power to three amplifier modules. This cutting-edge design delivers 250 watts to the speaker’s subwoofer and 180 watts to its midrange speakers. Additionally, the tweeter receives 180 watts of power.

The MicroMain 45 eliminates the requirement for a second set of reference monitors. Barefoot Sound’s MEME (Multi Emphasis Monitor Emulation) technology enables you to test your mixes against accurate replicas of common reference sources such as standard consumer playback systems, old NS10s, and classic mix cubes. MEME technology means you won’t have to struggle with a congested workspace, external power amplifiers, or ancient speakers with hard-to-find replacement parts to get a tried-and-true set of alternate reference monitors.
