With the release of the open-back DT 900 PRO X, we introduce circumaural studio headphones that will usher in a new era for the long-established Heilbronn-based brand. While our classic PRO series devices are considered reference items in professional studios all over the world, the new PRO line is designed for versatile use both in the studio and on the go. It’s all made possible by the newly developed STELLAR.45 driver, which loudly reproduces the best sound in studio quality without distortion across all playback devices.

Trusted studio sound and great performance

The STELLAR.45 sound transducer, designed and manufactured in Heilbronn, Germany, delivers the proven beyerdynamic sound to previously unattainable levels of studio-headphone-class performance. This is due to both the neodymium ring magnet and the copper-clad high-tech wire. The tradeoff between electrical conductivity and wire weight is unique. In conjunction with the newly developed three-layer speaker diaphragm with an integrated dampening layer, this has resulted in a highly efficient driver system that performs admirably on all playback devices.

Professional audio quality

The novel membrane structure regulates the axial motion of the voice coil, keeping it securely positioned in the magnet gap even during strong oscillations. Another advantage is the broad and natural frequency response. The transducer’s rapid reaction and the detailed transient response provided by the low coil weight result in a sound that is always reliable and distortion-free, even at high sound pressure levels.

The cable idea is also clearly appropriate for everyday use: the removable mini-XLR cable may be swapped out as needed to be replaced with cables of different lengths or with additional connecting choices.

The sturdy spring steel headband design guarantees that the over-ear headphones fit securely and are long-lasting. The velvety velour ear pads are as comfortable to the touch as you’d expect and provide excellent ventilation. The headband is ergonomically designed to fit the contour of the wearer’s head using soft memory foam and, like the ear pads, may be replaced as needed.
