OVERVIEW

The KH 120 is Neumann’s pioneering model and development standard for tiny studio monitors. It has served as a reference class for close-range monitoring since 2011. Massive power reserves meet ultra-precise sound transmission. The end result is maximum signal quality and clearly contoured transients throughout the complete, neutrally planned frequency response. This gives you exact control over tone depth, spatial picture, and even the smallest details in the mix.

The KH 120 is a two-way bi-amplified monitor with thermally shielded class-AB amplifiers (80 watts each). Similarly to the drivers, the Mathematically Modeled DispersionTM (MMDTM) waveguide is computed with high precision. Sound dispersed horizontally precisely allows flexibility in the listening position, while tighter vertical dispersion lessens the unpleasant impacts of surrounding reflections, such as those from a desk or mixing console. The highly controlled dispersion characteristics enhance reproduction in even the most diverse space arrangements.

BEST WORKING ENVIRONMENT: CLOSE TO PROFESSIONAL EARS.

The KH 120 is commonly utilized in near-field applications such as project, music, broadcast, and post-production studios for recording, mixing, and mastering. It is also available with a digital input “D” configuration.

PORTS AND HIGH DYNAMICS: NO MORE CONTRADICTION

With its digital switched-mode power supply and bi-amplification, the KH 120 achieves sound pressures of up to 111.1 dB while maintaining a high-resolution and neutral representation over the entire frequency response. This gives you enough energy to achieve maximal dynamics without distortion or loss. As a result, the bass drops to an astounding 52 Hz. Despite employing ports, there is no “overhang” in the bass response. The transitory response remains under control. The drivers’ improved design produces pure sound even at low frequencies below 50 Hz. This rich foundation provides a lot of space to work cleanly on the mix without the need for an additional subwoofer. In the challenging treble region, the specifically created, strong alloy fabric dome provides distortion-free reproduction.

HUNDREDS OF GOOD REASONS FOR THE NEUMANN PHILOSOPHY

The KH 120 is designed in accordance with Neumann’s monitor loudspeaker philosophy. Every component, shape, signal, and wave motion is the result of this ideology. Every shape and component exists for a reason. There are hundreds of tangible reasons built into the KH 120, all of which point to an incredibly pure and neutral sound. Curvatures in the housing, for example, can help reduce edge diffraction. Also incorporated is the bass driver’s pistonic output, which prevents harmonic distortions even at the greatest sound peaks. Some of these factors are clear from the KH 120. Neumann prefers to keep to itself. However, when combined, each may be heard; sound specialists in large and small studios all over the world can attest to this.

The KH 120 is ideal for audio recording, mixing, and mastering in music, broadcast, project, and post-production facilities.
