SPL MTC Mk2 Monitor Controller

Talkback Controller and Monitor
The full monitoring solution is the MTC. Selection of sources and loudspeakers, mono, dim, and mute switching capabilities, built-in talkback microphone for talkback, and the ability to create an artist-specific headphone mix are all included.

Inputs
The MTC has six stereo inputs available. The signal of the musician should ideally be contained in the musician input, making it accessible at the musician control in the Cue Mix section as well. The master output of the DAW is then supposed to receive the Mix input. The input stages for the musician, mix, and 2TrA and 2TrB are balanced. In order to be audible on both channels in the phantom centre, a mono signal must always be sent into the left channel.                                                                                                                                         With RCA connectors, 2Tr C and 2Tr D are unbalanced. This is also where HiFi equipment can be attached.Every input has an additive effect! Every input signal is combined by the MTC.With the exception of the musician, the slave out stereo output always outputs the chosen input signal(s) raw. Metering is one of the things that can be related to this.

Cue Mix                                                                                                                                                                                                                               An analogue, latency-free Cue Mix can be made for the musician as a separate mix of the Mix signal and the Musician signal.
There is a specific control that responds to each of the three artist statements: “I can’t hear myself,” “The mix is too loud,” and “I can’t hear anything.”
The Cue Mix can be sent to the vocal booth’s headphone amplifier at the rear.

Talkback
Talkback communication can be facilitated via the integrated electret microphone, which can be accessed through a foot switch or by pressing the Talk button.
The microphone signal’s proper level is set by the level control.
Only the talkback microphone signal is sent out via a balanced jack connection at the Talk Out output.
Through an active loudspeaker installed in the recording room, the sound engineer can thus communicate directly with the musicians or speakers.

Control Room Area
On the MTC, three pairs of loudspeakers can also run in tandem.
An analogue potentiometer and a 45mm complete aluminium knob are used to adjust the volume.
One can rapidly construct an ideal monitor mix by using the Source Blend function.
You can listen to the chosen speaker pair in parallel using the headphone output.
The HP On switch is used to turn on and off the headphones, allowing them to stay plugged in even when they are muted.

Monitoring modes
Three separate monitoring modes are supported by MTC Mk2.

The mix can often be watched in “stereo.” In “mono,” mono compatibility can be verified.

The phase inversion switch Ø can be used to reverse the signal’s phase.

The third mode, which is the channel swap function, has a unique characteristic. LR SWAP

Speakers & Subwoofer
Three pairs of stereo speaker outputs and a single subwoofer output are available on the MTC Mk2.

Selecting the appropriate stereo pairings is done with premium analogue switches. Every pair has a unique switch. Multiple selection is therefore also feasible. An extra subwoofer can be turned on and off using the SUB switch. You can pair the SUB with any set of speakers. The complete frequency spectrum of a mono summed sound is sent by the subwoofer output. An alternative is to link the SUB output to a mono monitor speaker.

Full Control
The large, heavy, 45 mm analogue volume control knob made of machined aluminium provides the ideal control range for accurately and intuitively adjusting the monitoring level.

Features:

  • Simple, straightforward volume control is provided with a solid-feeling aluminium knob.
  • You may verify if your mix is mono compatible by using the mono switch.
  • allows you to keep an eye on the side and mid sections of your mixture separately.
  • Dedicated mute controls for your speakers and headphones in addition to a dim switch
  • sufficient outputs to support three sets of stereo speakers and a subwoofer’s mono output
  • Each pair of outputs has its own dedicated on/off switch in addition to a separate sub switch.
  • Four stereo inputs with balanced and unbalanced connections included
  • Level calibration of studio monitors and dedicated metre output
  • Superb talkback setup featuring an integrated condenser microphone
  • Committed A controllable talkback signal level
