Kali Audio WS-6.2: Dual 6.5-inch Powered Subwoofer

The Kali Audio WS-6.2 is a studio subwoofer with two 6.5-inch horizontally opposed woofers. It requires less than half the area of similar subwoofers, making it ideal for stereo mix layouts with limited space.

The WS-6.2 is intended to be a companion subwoofer for Kali’s LP-Series and IN-Series monitors, but it may be used with nearly any pair of studio monitors.

Small stature, big sound

The Kali Audio WS-6.2 is slightly bigger than an 8-inch studio monitor, making it perfect for use under a desk or in tight spaces. The horizontally opposed woofers on the WS-6.2 have the same radiating area as a 10-inch woofer but are significantly smaller and more compact.

Furthermore, the woofer design balances off-net vibration, so the sub does not hurry, buzz, or rattle even at high SPL levels.

The Kali Audio WS-6.2 has a maximum SPL of 120 dB, which is enough for most stereo situations and basic multichannel systems. If more SPL is required, a second WS-6.2 may be attached without occupying much room. You might also try utilizing our bigger WS-12 subwoofer.

I/O and Control

The Kali Audio WS-6.2 has balanced inputs for XLR or TRS cables and unbalanced RCA inputs.

You may utilize the 80 Hz crossover to boost your monitors’ low-end response, use LFE mode to give the sub a dedicated LFE channel, or deactivate the crossover and use an external crossover for greater flexibility. The 80 Hz crossover is intended for use with Kali studio monitors, but it is also compatible with monitors from other major manufacturers.

When using the 80 Hz crossover, the XLR outputs will produce a high-passed signal. The WS-6.2 has a footswitch connector to turn off the subwoofer, and the XLR outputs provide a full-range signal to your studio monitors. Port Tube

The Kali Audio WS-6.2, like Kali Audio’s full-range speakers, has a front-firing port tube that reduces noise and compression.

Most port tubes have air exiting at varying speeds from various places at the entry, causing loud turbulence. This turbulence can be heard as “chuffing,” an audible air sound produced by the monitor. This sound will increase the loudness intensity while concealing low-end details.

The port tube of WS-6.2 was designed to guarantee that all air exited at the same pace. This increases the speaker’s low-end performance while keeping the bass clean, tight, and free of unwanted noises.
